About the Event

Have you ever encountered a horse on the trail and didn’t know what to do?

Sunshine Coast Equestrian Club in partnership with Horse Council of BC would like to invite the community to volunteer or pop by the Sunshine Coast Equestrian Club Community Arena, Saturday, July 27  between 9am and 5pm for our horse habituation clinics! (1436 Largo Rd, Roberts Creek)

Do you hike, dog walk, mountain bike, ATV or motorbike? We are looking for volunteers for one hour blocks to take part in our horse habituation clinics taking place between 9:00am and 5:00pm on Saturday, July 27. Learn about how to interact safely with horses on the trail and we appreciate you letting our horses learn about you! WE NEED VOLUNTEERS - Please sign up here to help!

We are excited for you to take part in our Multi-use and Horse Trail Clinic please register for your time slot through you can pay for your spot through this page. The clinic is 1 hour and 45 minutes with an hour long presentation the evening prior. Please arrive to your clinic tacked up but you will start the clinic with ground work. During this clinic you will learn how to habituate (desensitize) your horses to different stimuli you might find on the trail. It will start out in a controlled environment in the arena and then progress to a nearby trail. If you are feeling comfortable will guide you through a mounted portion of the clinic as well.

Please be prepared for the weather as this event will take place rain or shine.
